Great addition, allows you to see state of charge of battery without removing from aircraft. In addition with use of ISDT Air charger, no need to enter charge data, just hit charge button.
These are wonderful!!
Definitely could save an airplane.
The price is great considering the job it does.
Cannot say enough good things about these Battair plug ins. When used in combination with an ISDT Battair charger they rock.
Once programmed they make charging painless.
Check my batts and never get my butt out of the chair.
If there is something easier someone please tell me.
I got these little Lipo checkers that stay on the Lipo balance lead because I got tired of always having to bust out my Lipo checker, remove the body shell, then isolate the balance lead. This simply allows me to install the little adapter, then simply push the little button on the side and get a instant battery life read out. By pressing the button, it’s more qualitative and uses color coding that is universal to most people. If you want more detail then you can open your smart phone app and see individual cell life. You can also set the parameters of what is considered a fully charged Lipo, and what is considered a dead Lipo. This makes it even more custom so that you know that when the LiPos says 30%, it means 30% of the difference between 4.20 V per cell and 3.80 V per cell.
You can also name each individual adapter that it is tethered to for quick reference. Last feature/function , would be that it also has a cycle counter, for those guys that like to keep tabs on how many times they have cycled a specific pack. I highly recommend this little gizmo to anyone wanting an easier way to spot check Lipo battery life while running the truck/car .
The only real drawback is the latching mechanism. The little clip sometimes breaks. I’ve learned that using a little heat shrink tubing helps keep the BattAir module secured. I’ve also super glued them to the balance connector. Probably not the best idea if I ever use it with a different pack, but at least I know it’s not going to accidentally disconnect.
And last benefit, I can leave it attached when charging my LiPos. It’s like an instant smart lipo upgrade to any traditional lipo pack.
Sometimes, I just do not want to bust out the lipo checker, access the balance lead on my lipo or have to even remove the body shell on my RC trucks. This gizmo gives me the option to either simply press a button for a quick qualitative measure: green = full charge, green yellow: good charge left, yellow= 50%, yellow-red: 37%, orange, <25%, red < 10%.
I can also use the app and set the parameters of what I consider a fully-charged pack and a dead one. I can get individual cell life, I can name each pack, and I can keep a counter of how many cycles that pack has been used.
I have these for all my frequently used packs from 2S to 6S.
Highly recommend!
This little gadget is a life and time saver.
